Back in December Dan reached out to me to setup a game plan to capture his Madeira beach engagement to Laura. They would be on vacation from Maryland staying across the street from the beach and Dan wanted to take advantage of their nightly sunset strolls to pop the question. Immediately yes. There’s nothing I love more than a sunset beach proposal. Dan and Laura were vacationing with another couple which worked perfectly in our planning favor. They told Laura they were going to go down to the beach at sunset to take pics before heading to dinner. The perfect plan to get Laura dressed up expecting to take photos with dinner to follow. I found a good spot on the beach and sat on the seawall as I watched Dan and Laura take photos of their friends. Once it was Dan and Laura’s turn for photos, their friends moved out of the way and that’s where I stepped in the capture the moment. Laura didn’t even notice me because she was too busy being proposed to. She said yes and we all cheered with excitement and that’s when Laura noticed I was there capturing the whole thing which is always my favorite part. Double the surprise! After Laura had a moment to process everything that just happened, her big fluffy doggos ran down the beach to congratulate mom and dad, just the sweetest. The sun was about to set so we used the last bit of daylight to capture portraits as the sun went down on this Madeira beach engagement session. It truly could not have been a more beautiful evening or perfect proposal and I’m so happy I got to capture it for Dan and Laura. Next stop is the wedding, cheers to that!
