The Multani’s Rusty Pelican Miami wedding day was by far one of the most fun, colorful, and energetic weddings I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing. We started the day at the Trump National Doral hotel in Miami which was stunning for getting ready photos. I got to hang with Kayla and the girls while my second shooter got ready with the boys. Along with Kayla’s flawless hair and makeup she also had Mehndi, also known as henna, on her hands and feet which is an Indian wedding tradition associated with positive spirits and good luck. I think one of my favorite parts about this day was witnessing two different cultures and families coming together to celebrate Kayla and Gurpreet. The love, acceptance, and respect I saw with the blending of these two groups was so wonderful to witness. After the girls popped champagne and got dressed we did all of the bridesmaid photos before we left the hotel where the rain stopped just in time for our departure. Next stop was the Catholic Church where the Multani’s ceremony took place with a traditional mass. Once rings and vows were exchanged, Kayla and Gurpreet officially became Mr. & Mrs. Multani and headed off to their Rusty Pelican Miami wedding reception in the back of a Rolls Royce. When we got to the venue we did the wedding party photos inside their reception space for a couple of reasons. 1. it was dark outside with limited space for a large group of people. 2. The reception room was stunning so it offered the perfect backdrop. and 3. Air conditioning. Need I say more? Then it was time to officially get the party started! The evening featured to most spectacular first dance with sparkler fountains and lots of dollar bills. Then it was time for LA HORA LOCA! AKA “crazy hour” where dancers and performers came out to kick this reception up to a 10. From now on I would like to request that all my weddings have la hora loca’s please. The energy continued all evening until it was time for a sparkler exit to end the most perfect day. Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Multani, this is one wedding I’m sure to never forget!
