O

Okay this Picnic Island Park engagement session was a blast with these two! Kelsey and Tony are new to the Tampa Bay area, and when I say new, I mean Kelsey literally moved to Florida less than 24 hours before our session. I really need to ask her what her secret is because she looked absolutely flawless on very little sleep. I can get a full 8 hours and still look like a bridge troll so I’m slightly confused, anyway I digress. We started our session in a big open field with massive seagrape trees before taking the winding trails back into some really pretty nooks before making our way down to the beach. Picnic Island is truly a little South Tampa gem. The park features acres on acres of trails along the bay with a fishing pier, dog park, frisbee golf course, volleyball courts, and grill stations. Highly recommend checking it out!

At first I wasn’t sure if we were going to get a sunset because there was a big shelf cloud blocking the sun. However, right as the sun touched the horizon it broke through the clouds and gave us the most glorious sunset! Kelsey and Tony’s first sunset together in their new home state, I was so grateful to capture that. The evening ended with wet clothes and sandy toes as it tends to do when I’m shooting at any water location these days, but I’m always down for how adventurous my couples want to get. Kelsey and Tony will be heading back up north for their wedding this Fall at barn (that’s painted black) and winery which just sounds to die for! I’m so happy I was able to capture these Picnic Island Park engagement photos for them to start this new chapter of their lives together in the sunshine state. Let the wedding planning begin!
